Default Got some new gear. :)

Bought a pair of ARC KAR KS300.4s to replace my PDX 4.150

now the goal is:

ARC 1: 90x2 - Dynaudio MD102 Tweeters
ARC 1: 175x2 - 8" ARC sub

ARC 2: 350x2 - Dynaudio MW172 Midbass.

(That's right, my midbass will have twice the power that my subs do.)

Using a pair of ARC EQs, one for left, one for right. - To make up for the huge disparity in l/r fr.

Also put Second Skin Luxury liner in the entire rear area, which made for an interesting fit of interior panels.

Here's a pic with the first piece in:

3.5 sheets can do the whole rear.

With the new rack started:

Not sure yet how I'll secure it to the car. I don't really want to go through carpet.

Also putting a few layers of glass on the rubber plugs in the doors, since the door has a lot of flex in that area.

Cool stuff.
Is that SS overkill CC foam on the back?
What are the blue lines on the amp rack for?

No, it's the Luxury Liner stuff, the foam with the vinyl barrier.

The lines are where the top is going to be.

I"ll assume it's another form of acoustic absorbtion foam. Just FYI: make sure the wall behind the seats gets a layer. This is essential for vettes with aftermarket exhaust and reccomended for all vettes in general.

That hardware looks sick!! Love it.

On the amp rack, are you going stealth or show?

Going for both.

I'm going to make a fascia board that covers it all, and is carpeted.

When that comes off, the amp rack is going to be finished in carbon fiber vinyl.

Right now everything from the seat bolts back is deadened. If this stuff works miracles, I'm going to replace all the deadening in the front of the car with it.

Here it is:

I may or may not fancy up the insides... I do need to figure out some way to cool it though.

it fits in perfectly... literally 1/8" to the targa.

Flush mounted fans on the front corners should do the trick (I suggest a push pull setup) depending on the heat, you may even want to do a 4-fan setup like mine. You can stay stealth by using speaker grille material for fan grilles. Just paint it to match.

Looking good.

The amps have built in fans, so I wonder if I need them.

worst case, I'll grab a pair of vantec 60mm fans. Push pull, I agree is the best configuration.
