Default Head unit recommendations?

Hey guys,

Im starting to work on replacing the crap bose unit in my C5 and am putting my parts list together...any recommendations on a good head unit that does CD and preferably MP3 as well? I was looking at the alpine CDA-7897 or CDA-7998 from a few years back but dont know much about them. Thanks in advance!

Eclipse 8445 is mp3 capable I believe as well as having built in time alignment and a 3 way crossover built in. Stay away from the newer Alpine stuff ... especially the glide touch models. 9833/35 and 9813/15 were very good decks and had a solid list of features. Pioneer's 880 prs is a very solid deck as well. Just depends on what you need it to do. A respectable quality HU can be as little as $150 these days.

I have the Kenwood MP435U Great deck, sirius works great, ipod hooks into the front usb and charges, and is controlled via the deck or remote control for deck. Also has option for HD radio and plays mp3's on cd or thru usb on a flash drive!!
