I am wondering since most of my Bose amps are shot, about running my own amps to power the bose speakers. I already have an aftermarket head unit with RC outputs. I have alot of old amps and crossovers laying on a shelf from old projects. I am just wondering what is the most watts I can pump thru the factory bose speakers on my C4 (85 if that makes a difference)
Thanks.

What you suggest is a dicey proposition. Bose systems of that era sometimes used very low impedance speakers (~1 ohm). This can wreak havoc on aftermarket amplifiers. The most reasonable solution is to replace the speakers along with the amps.
I immediately trashed all the factory stereo equipment in my cars, so some other C4 guy would have to chime in for more detail.
