Default Can an IPOD be played thru my '92 radio?

CD player in my stereo is toast (original Bose).

FM stereo works fine.

I'm wondering, with the right adapter cord, would I be able to play an IPOD through the Bose?

Thanks!

Yes, you can. Get the adapter that works through the cassette player. They're available at any of the big electronics chains, Radio Shack or Walmart. They're under $15 (mine was $10 at Walmart). Set your IPod volume at 3/4s and the sound is great. Don't bother with any of the RF transmitters (the ones that play it through a FM frequency) as they suck.

I have one that I bought from Target that works great and charges my iPod. It's a D-Lo brand... at least I think that's what it says. It looks like a cradle for the iPod and it had adjustable arms so you can set it the way you want it. It's an FM modulator.

Mine works wonderfully.

That's just to power/recharge it. If your iPod battery is fully charged, you can get hours of use out of it without having to worry but you can get a separate charger to plug into the cigarette lighter. The cassette adapter looks like a regular cassette cartridge with a wire and mini-jack attached to it. The mini-jack plugs into where your head phones normally do. I've seen the cassette adapter and cigarette recharger packaged together as well....

I initially got the very same one at Best Buy and paid a lot for it too. What a disappointment. It had terrible fidelity and a lot of interference. Maybe it has something to do with the radio stations in my area...

I've tried 2 FM modulators both suck. My cassette player doesn't work so I'll just have to go after market. http://www.eclipse-web.com/avn/avn5495overviews.html

Just plugs into the headphone jack.

Honestly, it's really just hit or miss on the FM modulators. I went through 3 of them, 2 of which were the same model/brand, and got one that works great.

It's really just a crap shoot I guess when it comes to them.

My entire radio crapped out. So went to a stereo guy I trust. He did a nice install on a kenwood deck with a direct attachment for my i-pod in the glove box. It is amazing. All the information from the i-pod reads out and is controlled through the radio.

The cassette adapter works good for me. But you can send your factory stereo to Dr. Dons and he will repair and uprade it better than new.

Monster Cable 300 is awesome!!!
" like they say you get what you pay for you want cheap you get cheap"

I have the Micro$oft Zune and Monster cables make great products for Ipod and Zune.

It cost 79.00 dollars but it is by far they best FM adaptor on the market
If your cassette is broken but your FM radio works buy this adaptor you wont regret it no static at all and I live in the City.

But if your cassette work get the tape adapter

That, I'll agree with. I had a six disk CD changer with the RF modulator hardwired into the antenna cable in the back passenger bin in my previous 96 LT1 and it worked great. If the Monster cable mentioned above is similarily wired then it's probably the way to go if your cassette isn't working.
