Default "91" C4 door mounted tweeter.

I just moved my Infinity component tweeter to the door panel because the door sill location caused the highs to be blocked by me and my passengers legs.

I had to cut a square section of fiberglass from the door frame to gain some clearance but, it was a straight forward install.

The sound from the tweeters was very harsh at first but, after completely readjusting the Hifonics amp and Alpine headunit settings, the sound is Great! Every song sounds very clear and the songs that sounded muffled before are now bright and clean. I thought the CD's were recorded bad!

I listened to several CD's ranging from old school rap, 80's rock, pop, jazz and it all sounded perfect! A huge improvement.

Here's the tweeter location before.

After, Drivers side.

Passenger side.

Close up.

Nice one! Yeah those tweeters need some taming when you have them that far off axis.

Even the Nora Jones CD I complained about in another thread, sounds fine now. Now that I can actually hear the music I'm able to adjust the amp settings more accurately.

Thanks for the nice compliments!

I wanted to show pictures of this install because there are very few pictures showing component speakers mounted on the later (90-96) door panels.

These later style door panels are not symetric which makes it even more challenging for speaker placement.

Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures of the tweeters behind the door panels. I was in too much of a hurry to get this project done.
