Default HD Radio - Is it worth it??

I'm in the process of upgrading my stereo, and I thought I'd try to get an unbiased opinion for forum experts on whether HD radio is worth getting into or not. Is it really that much better than either normal or satellite radio for $150? I've already got a DVD/NAV unit going in, with a Sirius receiver, plus an iPod hookup - the HD unit may not fit anyway!

What are your thoughts on HD? Is it really the future?

Thanks for your opinions!

You can't put a price on a good time!

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy!

haha, funny that you ask Brad. I was thinking about stopping by a shop and checking out HD for myself. I think the best way is to just go to a store that has some units available and take a listen. It doesn't have to be a car stereo place, but any electronics store should do. ABT comes to mind. I would personally wait, prices are still coming down on HD receivers. You can always add it later. BUt if you like what you check out, then it might be worth adding it now. I have heard that its better quality than sat radio. BUt like I said. I've just heard that. NO personal experience

The price of HD is still high, but the sound quality is much better than satellite radio. Side by side, you will be able to tell a significant difference. Around here, we have 12 stations (I think) that are broadcasting in HD, and most of them are multicasting. You can go to www.hdradio.com to find a listing in your area. Some areas have completely upgraded to HD.
