Default Best tweeter placement in a C5? Plus door deadening question?

Well I decided to redo my stereo a little bit.

I currently have:

Amp: 6 channel cadence
Front Stage: CDT 6.5 components
Rear Fill: CDT 5.25 mids
Sub: 13kv.2

I am looking at doing this:

Amp: 6 channel cadence
Front Stage: Pioneer Premier RPS 720 (bridging the the amp)

Rear Fill: None
Sub: (2) eD SQ10

With my first install I put the tweeters in the door pulls, should I do the same this time around? I was thinking about moving them down by the mid this time and aiming them more towards me. Not sure which is a better spot. Just a bit worried about blocking them with my leg but I think I will have improved imaging no?

Also how much deadener do I need to just get better midbass response? My car is loud, it will pretty much always be loud, I am not looking to dampen the whole car, I just want better midbass from the front so that is why I want to deaden the doors.

its about 15 sq ft i think to do the doors inside and out each. With the tweeters I would try out both locations. Its easy to mount them by the mid. and if your not happy you can put them back in the door pulls, right? I'm real happy with my tweeters being by the mids. With them facing up, they don't get blocked too bad by legs.

Deadening the doors will improve midbass response for sure. Properly tuning your sub and its crossover points/slopes and matching it well with the midbass is key to getting good "up front" midbass. I am most likely going to be at 80hz on the midbass 24db slope in my truck install with the 720's. 80hz 24 or 18db on the sub. Really getting it dialed in comes down to what processing you have. Time alignment can make a huge difference in a car.

The Pioneers need some power so bridging them is a good idea.

Might be worth looking into Cowboys heat/insulation kit, it helped with my install for some noise reduction (coupled with some liquid
deadener).

As for the tweet placement, IMO it all depends on how you drive. With my left arm up I block 90% of the sound from the drivers side tweet, which is incredibly annoying to me (mounted in the door pulls). Moving my tweets up into the pillars very soon once I make time to experiment more with the exact placement in my 3 way setup. However in a 2 way I would probably recommend mounting the tweets as close to the grill and as high up as possible in the stock location, while keeping it unblocked, aimed as best you can to "crossfire" in the cabin. Experiment a bit with what sounds best to your ear before you commit to a location however. They may sound better "bounced" a bit and fired into the windshield vs back towards the passengers. And IMO at the end of the day set it up for what sounds best to you in the drivers seat, since it is your car so you should get the most enjoyment!

I added a set of "image tweeters" to the pillars and it is awesome. Your leg or arm will invariably block a bunch of sound from the stock door location.

What "image tweeters" did you add?

Image tweeters are a band aid to bring soundstage up. I am not a fan.

Just put your only tweeters in the a pillars.

Well, I did not try both ways of installing the tweets (just one in the pillar). I just did it once and installed both that came with the CDT kit I bought.
