Default removing rear radio reciever

my '93 has the radio reciever in the rear storage compartment and I want to remove it because I went with an aftermarket stereo. I used the power wires that powered the factory head unit. when I remove the wires from the reciever I loose voltage at the front. should I bypass the wires at the factory reciever or just find another constant and switched hot wire? I bought the resistors today to keep the SYS light off. thanks

As you discovered, the CDM provides power to the HU.

You could jumper the wires that are sending power in and out of the CDM, but then you're running power from the dash, back to the storage compartment, and then back to the HU.

Better to just pull HU power from somewhere else.
