No personal experience, but a buddy of mine had an iPod2Car in his '02 Z28 and said it worked perfectly.

I'm happy with my iPod2Car, but I can't offer a comparison.

You may look at the iConnect by SmartPark. Doesn't limit you to 5 playlists. Approx. $235 online

Otherwise wait for the GM OEM adaptor supposely out anytime. $169 + install

I've been researching as well.

Don't go the Smart Park route. I can't get it to work as advertised. Tried 3 different models. Still working on it with the mfg. Right now I'm using the USA-Spec Vette PA-11 If you use it in Direct mode you can have all the playlists you want.

installed the USA Spec PA11-Vette a couple weeks ago and love it. Easy install and full digital sound.

Fcal,

I just installed iConnect (SmartPark) on my C6 Coupe with Nav and am very satisfied, only two gripes: the system does not start in iPod mode and the HUD does not display the iPod songs. Everything is working fine for me and I have plenty of playlists which you can select with the Cat feature from the XM radio.
What are your problems, just to check mine on those areas?
For me it works as advertised, but this is not an endorsement since I only have it since Friday...

Best regards,
Luis

Luis, are you using the CL 21600? It only displays the song/artist info for a few seconds then disappears. Then the display jsut shows XM style buttons with no info. Smart Park leads you to believe that the info stays on the screen and that it gives seamless control. YOu can't pick a song out of a playlist to play because it doesn't show the songs in the playlist.

Fcal,

You are correct, I can't directly pcik a song, I now understand your concern. Form me this is not a problem, but if you look at their videos (from another Nav system) you could assume that.

Let me know if you find a solution that does work as you expect, I am thinking GM will probably not do that either....
Thanks again,
Luis

I've got the ipod2car.

It's ok.. it's nice to have the ipod in the car with good sound quality.

Here are my gripes with the ipod2car so far:

-Sometimes when I start my car, the ipod starts playing like it should, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes I have to push the play on the ipod to start it. not sure why.

-Sometimes when I start the car and I have to hit the Play button on the ipod, it will play the first song and then stop, and I have to hit the play button again. after that, it will continuosly play as it should.

This is with my factory single cd player in my 2002 vette.

Luis, any way you could post a pic of what your Nav screen looks like in IPOD mode?

I will take a picture shortly (just looks like standard XM, not the fancy screens shown in the video...)
