Default C6 Hatch Struts

I have new speakers ordered for door and rear. Read thread on proping up the hatch and remove hatch strut on lower end but after wire removed how do you release the end of the strut. Appreciate any help speakers are to arrive Tuesday. Thanks

see the metal band at the top of the strut? pull this clip off. Make sure you have the hatch supported when you do so.
