Default c6 question for door chimes w/ aftermarket system

i have installed a aftermarket system using the factory head unit(navi) and adding a sub/amp/new spkrs. when the door chime sounds while the door is open or when the seat belt reminder chimes, it is extremely loud. probably cause the new amp powering the speakers.

is there a way to turn this down? has anyone else encountered this?

No adjustment on this, but you could turn the gain/input sensitivity down on your amp and it would lower it. Odds are if the chimes are overly loud than you won't notice any loss in top end volume.

Quick method to set the gain on the amp to your head - turn the gain all the way down on the amp. Put on a CD you know very well, something upbeat/loud and turn the volume up on the head to approximately 3/4 of max, assuming you can get it that high without distortion. Once you have it at that level begin to turn the gain up on the amp. You basically want the gain set just below the level where the speakers distort. Setting at 3/4 will give you dynamic headroom for quieter material.

Quick & dirty.

thanks, i'll try that and see if it makes a difference. also, thanks for all the input about the c6 wiring. i think i gave the local shops an education from all the info i received from the forum. the system sounds great that i went with. JL makes some quality stuff!
