Default Diy Radio Bezel Re-finish????????

my console/radio bezel was peeling in a few spots and i bought a can of interior dye off ebay. the seller told me that a 97 kinda had a finish of its own. anyone ever heard this? does anyone have a DIY to solve this? thanks. (by the way it's black)

i'm not 100% surea about that. you may want to contact fredbeans and ask if there are different product #'s for that piece. as far as a diy. you could high-fill prime or sand the whole piece and use some sem texture spray and top coat (satin black) it's a pain in the ass though. i tried it and then sanded it all down and sent it to leathermagic since they did such a great job on my first dash piece
