Default Help with a mounting issue (pls)

Ok. I have mounted wood to fiberglass in the past but always on level horizontal places, IE floorboards without issue. But so far I have tried an epoxy based adhesive and a silicone based adhesive, both supposedly well suited to the task, and for the feking life of me I cannot get a board to stay on the back trunk wall underneath the latch mechanism in my z06.

I have even drilled holes for the board to sit perfectly flush (there are 2 protruding bolt heads back there) and I still have yet to get anything to come close to adhering.

So my question is what the hell did you guys use for the rear wall amp mounting boards? Help a brother out before I have to take apart the rear of my ride and bolt this damn thing down as I really do not have any other options space wise and it fits so damn perfectly there

Thanks in advance
Fej

try scuffin the surface as suggested. Does it dry and then fall off or is it not drying properly?

Seems to me it is not drying properly as well as having problems adhering to the wood. Going to sand the mdf board I am using a bit more as it feels a bit too smooth imo. The epoxy stuff dried and did not have a chance. The caulk I used dried really slowly and barely stuck to the wood at all. Will be headed over to Lowes in a bit to get the liquid nails I think or maybe the loctite stuff I found .. or maybe I will use both

Hey fej, I drilled and screwed my board on to make sure it fit. Then pulled it off. The back fiberglass of my coupe is convex so glueing would be hard. I sprayed the board with expanding foam over the entire surface and quickly put it in place and screwed it in. The next day I cut away the excess and removed the screws and replaced them with 8-32 bolt and nuts. OH before I placed the on I pre drilled for my amps and used T-nuts on the back side so they wont pull out. Use 24 grit to sand down both surfaces. This probably wont work with out screwing it down though. Good luck
