Default [C4] rear mount woofer update

So I have been working on sealing the OEM rear enclosures in my vette.. well it was mId 30s (F) today so I thought I would see how they sounded now.

I took my a/d/s PS5 amp to test it, well apparently the remote input on the a/d/s is asking for more current then the Nak headunit can handle and the amp would not turn on. Not a show stopper since I could run it through a relay but I was unable to test it in the car (but I know it does work)

Anyway I hooked up my eD NINe.2 I think the gain was set at 20v (I did not reset it from the last time). Well they sound AMAZING!!! nice and tight, clean the way they should..

I am thnking now that the NINe.2x might be a bit of OVERKILL for the 8s. I do not have the fronts connected yet as the rear of the car is still in pieces.. So I am not sure what to do.. I am guessing that the eD amps will work fine, but not so sure if the NINe.2x will be too much.

SO at least I am making progess..

I really wanted to see how the PS5 sounded, but I am not going to sweat it.

Now I need to pull the doors apart a bit to remove the passives I have tucked in there (or bypass them to use my CDT X-overs)

if you are just curious about testing the amp you can just place a 'jumper' wire from the constant 12v at the amp to the acc turn on lead. that'll power it up and let you test how it sounds.

Yeah I know.. but it was hard enought stuffing the 8ga wire itn he contact for the PS5.. LOL

not a big deal, besides 2 PS5s are the same size as one NINe.2

do you have any pics?

Still debating here whether to go for 2 8" subs or a single 10 or 12 in my 96 C4 (Delco)

How much work to seal the stock rear units?

Not any of the sealing, but here is one with the woofer in place:

Here are a few pics from my install. The rear enclosure is a sealed unit. Mine had factory insulation, others seem to have no insulation. I sealed mine with butyl tape.
