C5 Sub combo

I'm looking at the kicker solo x 12 and the zx2500.1 amp....they are booth supposed to be good...i'd like to know your thoughts ? My buddy works at a car audio place and can get me both new under warnt for around 800 bucks... I want this to hit. I was thinking about a JL W7-12 befor. If anyone has hear this sub or knows about this combo lemme know asap bc i want to buy something b4 x-mass thanks!

Never heard that Kicker sub but the JL 12W7 will be hard to beat. "Car Audio and Electronics" magazine use the 12W7 as their reference.

that sub is a monster to say the least and ill leave it at that... you may have trbl fitting it in a stealthbox

aighty as long as u guys have heard good things about it i'll go for it ....i was going to get a W7 but at this price i can't go wrong

12w7 in a vette involves glass or some sort of volcano type mdf enclosure. Far too deep and too large of a diameter in the magnet to fit in our cars without some custom work. It can be done though.

I just installed a single Diamond Audio D912-D2 (in my C5 coupe) in a custom flush-mount enclosure (looks just like sub-thump flush-mount) powered by bridging two channels of a Diamond D9800.4 (400W). The sub is a monster but still fits flush with only the speaker grill above the level of the carpet. The SQ is world-class and hits hard - although it is rated at 800Wrms so I'll need to upgrade the power to exploit the full potential of the unit. About $350 on ebay - highly recommend it.
