Default JL 10W3v3 compares to ED ?

Was planning on putting a JL 10W3 in the C5 and was thinking I should consider other subs, so what do you think compares to the 10W3v3 in the Elemental Design series or others?
I know speakers are very subjective, just looking for opinions and ideas.

Thanks everyone,

The JL is deff a nice sub but the elemental designs hold there ground next to it, the 11kv is prly about on par, with the 11ov deff bein a lil nicer

Diamond also makes some nice stuff as well as CDT

I was about to say also that Diamond Audio makes some nice subs! I would say they definately are side by side to a JL since I have installed both of these subs fairly often. In all honesty I would have to give a little more props to the diamond over the JL. I haven't had any experience with the ED series to give an opinion, but have heard great reviews.

I have heard many accounts of id's having durability issues and flat our failures. Even though they are terrific subs, that would worry me.

I beat the hell out of my IDQ10 and IDMAX for years, no issues.

No trouble with my ID made arc 8s either.

I'm sold on image dynamics for life.

The only concern I've seen, is with the IDMAX. The clearances inside are very tight, and if you manipulate the cone of the speaker manually, you could possibly damage the mechanicals of the sub in such a way it can cause scratching noises.

But who pushes on sub cones?
