Default Mounting Focal 165 K2P

I got my pair of Focal's today and was hoping someone who had installed theirs could please chime in.

I had 3/4" MDF mounting brackets cut that include holes for both the midrange and the tweeter. When mounting the bracket should I do it bare against the door frame, or should i dynomat and then bracket it over that?

Also, where did you put your crossovers? I was looking around the doors and the room looked questionable, I was thinking maybe putting them behind the seats.

Thanks for your help

Mine are in the same place as jefe's .. but my amp is under that seat as well If you are comfortable enough .. or unconcerned enough with the tuning of your set up that you can set them and forget them .. or tune with the door panels off, then go with them in the doors, but I would look into another option (near amp location .. under passenger seat .. on back wall behind seat), it is worth the extra speaker wire.

I did some looking last night and agree best place is behind seats on the wall, going to use heavy duty velcro to stick them on the carpet for easy access. How did you extend the wires of the tweeters? They came with wires soldered on already.

Thanks

You can go to Lowe's ( or where ever) and go to the electrical area. They will have male and female disconnects that are made for different gauge wire. These will be crimped on the end of the wires. This will make it easy to connect the different gauge wires together. Also gives you a disconnect for when you need to remove the door panels in the future. This is what I did.
