Default ~*Putting AVIC D2 in C6, What all will I need???*~

I'm putting a Pioneer AVIC D2 in my C6….anyone done this yet?

Does the D2 require I find the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) wire to connect to? Some Double Din systems do, some don't. If so, where is the VSS wire in the C6?

Does the AVIC D2 require reverse signal wire hookup too?

I know that I will need THIS mounting kit.

I know that I will need THIS to have XM.
I was told that I could use my stock XM antenna for the aftermarket XM receiver. I imagine I would have to cut the stock harness though. Does anyone know?

I believe I will need THIS to retain the chimes and OnStar, but I'm not sure yet.

Will I need any other wiring harnesses? Am I leaving anything out?

Yep, you'll need all of that above, including the chimes and antenna adaptors.

The XM antenna itself could certainly be used but I have read that if you don't have XM in your car to begin with the wiring harness isn't present for it.

Have you checked out www.avic411.com ?

I have the Blose 7 speaker, 6 disk in-dash changer with XM and OnStar stock. I even have that attractive "beauty mark" on the roof bow.

I'll give that website a look, thanks. It would be nice if a C6 owner would have gone this rout for vehicle specific info...ya know?

Almost has to be somebody out there that went that route, but went that route self-installed.....

If you have a coupe the XM module is mounted over the left rear wheel. Where the antenna leads go from there I don't know(my C6 is a vert and it's mounted in the waterfall). If you mount the Pioneer unit there you may be able to tap power and the antenna, then just run the signal cables up to the head.
