Default Adding LED to C5 factory alarm

I do not have the stock radio anymore but would like to have a blinking LED when the alarm is on. Anyone know where I can find +12 when the alarm is active?

Stupid question, is there suppose to be a blinking LED when the alarm is armed and you still have the stock radio? If so, where is it (LED) located and how do you enable it...

(Sorry, didn't mean to hijack your thread )

you can pick up blinking led's from anyplace that sells car alarms. just wire up a relay off of the acc lead to close when there isn't any power going to it and then wire up a constant 12v+ to one side of the relay and the blinking led to the other side. so when you take your key out of the ignition it will give the blinking led power.

I read in another thread the you have to "setup" the radio to have the LED blink when the alarm is armed. Not sure if its a year to year thing or not.

As for the relay idea yeah that would work but I don't really care for a LED blinking all the time. There has to be a better way.

I believe Scott was telling you how to wire it up so that when the car is off, the LED will flash. When the ignition is turned on, it will not light up.

I understood that but when I say "all the time" I mean all the time that the car is sitting in my garage.... I want the LED to light when the alarm is on and no other time.

The radio LED has nothing to due with the car's alarm. It blinks when the car is off, no matter if you set the alarm or not.

I'm pretty sure that mine didn't blink until after I set the theft deterrent code in the radio.
