Default Where to buy pioneer headunits new?

I finally found the headunit I like, problem is, it is 2x more than what I had originally wanted to pay. I saw it at Circuit City for $400 and change, then of course the wiring harness/dash kit etc on top of that.

Is there somewhere else I might be able to find it cheaper? I'm a little wary of eBay (it wasn't on there anyway). I would rather find a 'big' place to buy from so that I have someone to call if it breaks...

Or just get it at CC and know I'm taking it in the rear?

Anyone ever use etronics.com? They have it for $325.

I am looking at the Pioneer DEH-P880PRS.

How about $240 + shipping? Seriously, give Ebay a try with sellers that have lot of positive feedback. NEVER had a problem. and they have plenty to choices for your model: http://search.ebay.com/pioneer-deh-p...0prsQQsbrsrtZd

Now about this headunit in particular...

I called a place about installing it, and he said there was a chance it wouldn't work, that he would have to add some kind of part to it. Something like, the headunit would put out more power than the speakers could handle? I don't know anything about audio stuff...input would be appreciated.

As far as too much power, no.
As far as an adaptor to make the door 8" woofers work, yes

Did you order a installation kit with it?

I found this http://www.autotoys.com/x/cust/produ...=0&page=2#tabs and was considering using this to install a similar Pioneer HU I am thinking of getting.

Has anyone had any experience with using this install kit or has someone come across anything else that they know will work with the Pioneer P980BT? Thanks!

Contact vrum vrum for a stereo mount, they look great and no modification is needed to mount the unit. It's about 90 bucks. I used a soundgate adapter and it worked great. The adapter will run you about 100.

Just bought myself a new pioneer AVH-P6800DVD for 800 bucks offa ebay. I love ebay. Private sellers are where its at, he sold it NIB for 100 less than the lowest other ebay prices, just gotta watch out for them.

The specs on the two are identical. The only difference is the Premier ups the warranty from one year to two. You also get "Premier Service and Installation" whatever that is.
