Default A few questions about your Subwoofer

Hello Everyone,

I've been reading all that I can find in this forum about installing a subwoofer and amp in my 2004 C5. Thanks for all the great info. I have a few questions in particular about your experiences in three areas: 1. - Does anyone run a sub in a stealth box (the type that sets 2" lower than flush) and keep it completely covered? If so, how is the bass performance with it covered? 2 - Does anyone use a Bazooka tube sub tucked away in the rear center enclosure and keep it covered? How does it do? What size is it? And finally, 3 - Has anyone installed or heard one of those Bazooka sub tubes that masquerades as a NOS bottle? Thanks a bunch. CV in NC.

Bazooka Bass tubes do work but they wont give near as much umph as a seperate sub in a box and amp. The NOS tubes are basically crappy bass tubes designed to look like a NOS bottle, they sound horriable

it sounds like you want bass but want to hide it completely. check out the sticky at the top of the audio forum about what people run in there rides. there is a post of two 8" subs and an amp in the center storage bin.

I had a custom cover built using the factory cover as a template made out of relatively thin aluminum (forgot the spec sorry) that is vented over the top of the sub to allow it to move some air, but it definitely decreases the output; couple that with a partition and I am down a fair amount of bass in my 01z. But I have got it pretty well tuned that if I really want something to hit I can crank it up about 15db via a remote bass knob and it will hit pretty solidly. Long cruises without major luggage and I will pull the cover and the partition and let the sub do its thing

G'luck
