Default Subwoofer through trunk partition

I have done a search on this and came up with ziltch. Has anyone done this, or know of someone who has? I would like to keep my trunk space.

I guess if I have to I can mount a stealthbox in the trunk, then take my trunk partition, pull the carpet off, cut a few 5" diameter holes in it, and re-carpet it so I don't have complete restriction of base, yet still have a partition.

Anyone done that either?

My 2000 FRC came with a foam trunk partition. I haven't tried running without the partition yet, but my sub hits hard with the partition in place. I'll try to play a couple songs with and without the partition in place and report back.

Heres one of an amp and 2way in the partition. Its not exactly the same but you get the idea. I'll try to look for that one thread with the exact pics

I have seen that thread before. One of the guys has the general concept of what I am looking for, however it would be nice to see how a single 10" subwoofer looks coming through the partition.

I'm interested to hear how the partition sound test turns out Dave!

Thanks fellas.

i know there is a thread out there on it. Its a 8" or 10" sub and there is a capacitor in front of it on the floor there with an amp. He was still working on it from what i remember. Hopefully he can chime in

Thank you. That is exactly what I had in mind. What does it look like from the trunk?

Default sub and partition

I have a single 10" sub in the rear and I have a partition... however I just installed the sub and have not re-installed the partition yet... So I have the same question and will be able to answer it myself in the next couple weeks (before the A&A Party is the goal)

I was contemplating holes or something in the partition as well... I'll post when I test it.

its slightly muffled but not enough to run with out the partition. When you tune the sub, tune it with the partition in unless you run without the partition most of the time

The box weighs about 72lb and can be taken out or turned around. I have had it both ways with the speaker in the trunk and in the cab.
