Im looking to change out my speakers in my 95 convertible. I had to get rid of my subwoofer due to a bottle install. Finding a good set that fits front and rear has been difficult due to the shallow depth. Mine was not bose original. I'd like something not too expensive but that can handle a lot of wattage (won't blow easy) I need some ideas on what brand/size fit in others 95 convertibles. If you have some pictures of nice in-dash CD or custom installs I'd like to see that too but I'll probably hold out for a good in dash cd/mp3 player.

Well if you want to spend a few bucks its allways better to spend more to get a quality deck before you try to get better sound out of the speakers. I would recommend a pioneer in dash touch screen DVD player. You then get better sound, pleasent displays, easy opperation and its DVD!! Pricy as it may be I have one minus the touch screen and you can definatly hear the differance in the FACTORY speakers. And I am using 85 factory speakers too!! If your looking for good front speakers go with the polk MOMO componet set. Again on the pricy side but you do get what you pay for. These would require a custom install more than likely. If nothing else you cant go wrong with pioneer. I have been useing them off and on for years and have NEVER been disappointed with them. Just make sure you listen to what ever you buy before you buy. And remember, just because it sounds awsome in the store DONT mean its going to sound that good in your vette.

As for your requirements, I would look at a pair of 8" round subs. I think the JL Audio 8W3v2 will fit in the factory locations. If not, it won't take much to make it happen.
the sad reality is that double din heads are just not that feature laden, unless you wanna spend 1100.00 on it.
Alpine makes a new unit that is pretty cool... but don't know about ram cards and such.
I would start surfing the brands.
Eclipse, Alpine, Clarion, Pioneer, JVC, Kenwood... The first three are ok, the rest... eh.
Ok, your choice of brands are good but you dont think pioneer is good...something wrong with ya? I owend all of the above and found that alpine's arent all that great, clarions are good, eclipse is good, pioneer is excellent for the price, JVC suck balls, kenwood are ok depending on the model. I would recommend rickreeves1 that you go with a single DIN kit cause double DIN that are awsome are hard to come by...they exist but hard to find for what you want. I would say give up on the whole card thing as there is really no point. You can hold a whole lot of MP3s on CD. If nothing else find one that has a hard drive or is compatable with a hard drive. I think the whole card thing is a waste of money but if you got some to spare send it my way...lol.

Definately not room in my vert though. I was suprised to see that I may still have room for my tube though. They mounted the bottle all the way to the back.
The reason I was looking for an in-dash that would take sd cards is because I already have some. One of them I just bought is a 2g. It would be nice to swap from the mp3 player to the car with all the ugly wires hanging around. Not to mention CD's rarely last me more than a year. I'm really bad about scratching them up. I don't like having to swap them either. SD cards are way easier to transport and don't scratch. My cd changer in the back drives my nuts. I'm really sold on the idea of an sd player if I can find a good one. I work in IT so building a computer would be no sweat. A car-puter sounds interesting. I'll have to search on here for some info. But in-dash with sd is all I really need, less expensive too.
