Default The Guy At The Audio Shop Said...

...There are fiber optic radio cables in my 05!!true or not ??The reason I ask is that they said they can't put an fm modulator in because of it and I have a thumping/static thing when I listen to my aftermarket xm radio. It's more thumping than static...

If your having problems, have them isolate/shield the wires to the XM. The static and thumping are being caused most likely by a bad ground connection and FM interferance.

no, but the tech can be confusing.

multiplexed means that one wire carries all the signal and the sensor has the ability to encode that signal so that the computer can say "yes, that's what I want."

It's how cable TV works... many channels, one wire.

Your installer is nuts. No fiber runs in our rides. Besides, how is fiber going to cause static...it is light. Not much to cause interference there.
