Default The Time has Come!

Finally after reading and reading and listening to different systems I've decided to go with the following.

1) Alpine 9857 HU
2) Boston Pro 60's
3) Boston G510-44 Sub (This was a tough decision due to trying to find a sub that would fit into a stealth sub thump box...less than 7" mounting depth)
4) Sub Thump 10" Stealth Box
5) Alpine MRV-F545 Amp
6) Waiting to hear back from VrumVrum on plates
7) Dynamat for the doors (thinking about cowboys kit)

My questions to the forum.
- Where is the best place to mount the amp?
- My next purchase is wiring..what brand, where to buy, how much is needed??
- I like the look of the tweeters mounted in the door pulls..the Pro 60's are 2 ways, should I still mount in the door pulls or I've seen Fej talk about adding a 4" mid. There is really not a lot of choices when looking at mids only...any suggestions??
- Those of you who did an install for the first time...what did you think, how difficult?
- How much would an installer charge?

Thanks Fej for the past help and advice and I can't wait to get this project completed.

Bill

depending on the size of your amp, a nice place to install the amp is on the back wall right under where the latch for the hatch is.

www.knukonceptz.com has a great selection, product, and prices

i suggest if you're going to get a 4" mid to find a pre packaged 3 way system. this way the you dont have to mess with custom crossovers or impedance matching.

the vettte has been the easiest car for me to install a system into.

depends on the installer and quality of service.

Looks like a nice list of components. If you do not want to go the 3 way prepackaged route, picking up a 2 way component set 4"/tweet and adding a midbass driver of some sort is easier than trying to find a 4" mid to complement an existing 2 way set up. Like Scott mentioned you do have to play around with finding some 3 way passive crossovers or find an external active crossover unit or a HU that would allow a 3 (or 4) way crossover.

knuconceptz for your wiring needs.
Amp locations are that back wall, a "rack" across the area just behind the seats (or behind a partition) or behind the backs of the seats on that small slope. Silicone a board to that slope and mount the amp to that (don't screw into the fiberglass there, its close to the gas tank). You could also use the side compartments for possible mounting.

Happy to help bro, let me know if you need something

Fej
