Default Why bypass the BSP

I read the post from ht99 about bypassing the bsp. What is the advantage? Is it to get more gain out of the stock amps? Also can the stock Bose speakers be run off an aftermarket amp if I were to run the fronts and rears in series to a front channel and run the stock subs in series with a 4 ohm 12" sub paralleled off that from the rear channel. Of course I will be running a hi end Pioneer amp thats 2 ohm stable any way. Thanks for the input.
