Is there one that's generally considered the best or are there features/benefits of more than one that need to be considered. I've got one built into the car I drive daily and it has saved me on numerous occaisions. I can't remember the name of it but it has sensors in the windshield and back glass as well as sensors on the front grill and rear bumper. For the Z I think I just want something simple and portable.
Thanks for any help!

it comes down to the escort passport 8500 or the Valentine V1.

I chose the 8500 only because I think the V1 is butt ugly.

but you can't go wrong with either one!

I have an escort 8500 works good the V1 should be about equal.
I have had several built-ins and prefer them.
Dislike having it in the windshield or hanging from the mirror. Thinking of going with a K40 Calabrie. Only problem is low mount antennas sometimes give less range.
I haven’t seen any antennas or sensors (which ever you want to call them) that mount in or on the windshield. I would be interested to know the manufacturer of your system.
I wish someone would build a detector completely enclosed inside of the mirror. With today’s technology they don’t have to be as large as they are.

I have a V1 and think it's great. I do have X band warnings disabled when driving around town to cut down on false alarms though.
