Pedestrian installation
I had some pretty minimal requirements. 1 Auxillary input, and 85Db with 20Db of peak room with at least 1Db of headroom. My wife was working for a company which got bought by best buy, so we briefly got an employee discount and could buy at cost. So I was limited by what was available on the best buy website and not through their market place. Outside of custom parts like the speaker plates and the sub+sub-box everything was bought at best buy, including the wire and installation materials. The reason I paid full price for the sub was because Best Buy didn't have a sub with a high enough sensitivity to produce the sound levels at the drivers seat from the passenger seat corner. Alpine made the Type-S sub which would have fit the bill but it wasn't sold in the 10in.

According to my cheap sound meter with the volume all the way up, I am achieving 114Db of pink noise, which is enough to damage ones hearing. 85-90Db seems listenable in the car with enough room to turn it up further for enjoyable songs. I can't see needing more except for enthusiast purposes, but YMMV.

Year: 1995
Model: Base coupe

Head Unit: Clarion NX702 navi w/ backup camera
Processor: N/A
Front Speakers: 6.75" Pioneer TS-A1780R (discontinued 4 way; found new in box leftover from another project)

Rear Speakers: 6.5" Kenwood KFC-1665S on homemade acrylic plate adapters
Sub (s): N/A
Amplifier (s): N/A
Car PC: N/A
Sound deadening: Foil-backed butyl rubber with foam overlayment on floor, tunnel, and in speaker openings
Wires: Stock
Other: N/A
Box: N/A
System Cost: Under $600
Install Cost: Free/self

Comments: I had installed the NX702 after buying the car last year. I added some 4" Kenwood KFC-1065S speakers with brackets in the front along with the above Kenwood 6.5" units in the rear. Even with sound deadening and stock exhaust, the car is loud inside and I could not hear the front speakers at highway speeds. I looked into some upgrades and found the TS-A1780R speakers leftover, so since I'm broke I used them.

I removed the front speaker boxes and cut a 1/8 piece of PVC to fit the side panels, mounted it in the original holes using some 1/4-20 x .75" bolts. I then drilled a 5.5" hole in the PVC and mounted the TS-A1780R speakers on these. I recovered them with the original carpet from the old panels since they were about the same size. There is room to add a tweeter if I ever go the component route.

The sound quality and quantity has greatly improved over the 4" units.

After trolling around tons of car audio sites over the past couple of months I thought that it would be cool to have a "post your components" thread to see what fellow vette folks run in their cars. I figured a template would be easy to read and easy to follow suit with so here goes:

Default Any C7 Builds

I was wondering if anyone has done a partial or full audio build on their C7 coupe or vert for that matter. I bought a Stealth box but was considering speaker upgrade and an second amp possibly.

Show em if you got em. Thanks.

Some absolute monster setups in here! Awesome!

I had to make do with limited space in the vert and I ended up paying more than I wanted, but hey, I'm really happy with the results.

The pictures seem to pick up every piece of dirt and lint, but I've been out driving and enjoying it--you know, making excuses (like getting toys for the dogs) to go jam.
