I want to add XM Satellite Radio to my stock 2000 convertible. Can someone suggest a good receiver that works well with Corvette as far as installation? I will probably have to use an FM modulator because I have a changer in my car.

It's possible to splice into the stock changer wires so you can put the audio signal directly into the radio while still keeping the changer. Click here to see that schematic.

For the install, if you get a receiver with a control unit that's small enough you can put in where the ash tray is and still use the door flap to cover it up. Check out this thread to see what it looks like with a Sirius.

Whatever you end up buying, check out post #9 of the C5 FAQ sticky to see how you can power it all with RAP so it all stays on with the radio.

As for the controller, the XM Commander fits where the ashtray goes. Sorry, I don't have pictures. I replaced the control unit with an adaptor to run to my Sony DVD/CD Player.

Get the Roady 2. It sends the signal to your radio wirelessly. I've seen them at Crutchfield for $30 bucks. Plus you have your monthly subscription of $15 bucks.

On suggestions from this forum, I installed the XM Commander with the display/tuner behind the ashtray door. XM is so much better than local radio.

I went with the MyFi. I use the FM modulator but would like to hard-wire due to busy FM band here in MEM.

I chose the MyFi because I can move it to my other two cars, the boat and the motorhome.......EASY
