Anyone know anything about TomTom GPS units from China?

They're selling dirt cheap on EBAY, but are being shipped from China? Are they any good? Are they knock-offs that are pieces of crap? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know about the eBay deal but I did look on their website and all of the prices are in British Pounds. Seems to me if they are advertising them in America, they would have American currency prices.

I have a Garmin 330C that I bought at Best Buy and wouldn't live without. I travel a lot so I just throw in suitcase. Also in summer when looking for country roads to run on its great.

All I know is that they have a huge advertising budget this year - just in time for Christmas.

Id do a GOOGLE.com search for Review TomTom and see if you can find out if they are reviewing the China shipped version from ebay.

2 friends have the TomTom 300. They like it a lot. I played with it and it is easy to put in your destination...both got their units from eBay for around $450.

I'm going to check with EBAY and see if the listings are fraudulent. They seem FAR to low to be real. I'll post back to this thread.

Answered my own question. I checked the feedback on the sellers and it's all entered on the same day and has comments like "Buyer worthy of cooperating with all strength!!!!!"

An obvious scam.

I say shell out the extra dough and get it from Costco. Their 100% satisfaction return policy cannot be beat. You can use it for as long as you want, and if you are unsatisfied with it, return it no questions asked. This policy is great for electronics, since many times the product isn't as good as you thought it was.
