Default How much power is hitting the C5 speakers?

I'm thinking of replacing the factory speakers with Infinity Kappas. How much power is hitting the speakers from the factory head unit? Is it enough to drive replacements without excessive distortion?

You are not going to be able to drive any high power speakers well using the stock head unit.

Depends
If you just want to keep the factory head unit and get better sound, yes . You can replace both the 3.5" twiddler in the door and the rear speakers with the Infinity Kappas. Many have put in the 3.5" Kappas and loved the results for the little $
If you want to put like a 6.5" Kappa set in the doors, no . The 8" woofer has it's own amp. The head unit frequencies going to the twiddlers will not give out much (if any) bass.

Sounds promising. Specifically, what I had in mind was the 3.5 two-ways in the doors, the 6.5 two-ways in the back and a 12 in a stealth type box with a 350 watt alpine amp tucked away, hooked to the hu with a pac. I was considering the alpine because the dimensions would allow me to put it into the center storage space just starboard of the cd changer. I just hated to go to all that work and find out I couldn't drive the speakers. Thanks for the input.

that would work great...but...if the amp and CD changer are in the rear center compartment, where is the 12" sub going

I was planning on allowing the sub to protrude up from the floor and designing a box based on the dimensions of the equipment after I gather it together. If there's still no room in the rear center, the amp I've got in mind will find under my manual passenger seat and I'll have to rethink relocating the cd changer.
