Default need audio experts, help with amp what does bp mean?

i have a cadence 6 channel amp. This amp will allow you to have surround sound in your car, channels 1 and 2 are the front speakers, 3 and 4 are the rear, 5 is center and 6 is sub. Anyways 1 and 2 have a crossover mode of hp or full and then the knob to adjust the hp channel 5 is the same. Channel 6 has just crossover mode of lp or full then the knob to adjust the lp frequency, but what puzzles me is channels 3 and 4. You can select between hp, bp, and full and has a hp and a lp knob. What does bp mean? I am assuming that if u put it on bp you can control the lowest frequency the speaker gets as well as the highest but am not sure.

Cliffnotes: what does bp mean when i have a selection of crossover settings of hp, bp or full

I'm pretty sure that these are refering to crossovers:

hp - high pass crossover
lp - low pass crossover
bp - band pass crossover

whats a band pass crossover, never heard of that one, i know their are bandpass boxs does it have anything to do with that? if so why would it be on the 3 and 4 channel rather then on the 6th channel that is made for a sub that already has bass boost boost frequency, subsonic and low pass crossover settings

Yup, band pass. Cut the lows and the highs out of the rear speaker. That helps with better front imaging. I always do something to trim the highs down from the rear, Around 8K is usually good.

i wish i had some baller project in mind but for now i am just going to use it to power the fronts and rears and the sub, no center speaker nor any sort 5.1 project. I am about to graduate college, maybe once i get done with college and have a good paying job i can use the amp to its full potential, the amp is def a beast
