Default What components for around 300?

I'm looking to re-do the sound system on my C4 this winter. Being the poor college kid, it needs to remain under 300 bucks. So, I've been looking at these components:

Alpine SPX-177R
Diamond Audio S600S
Diamond Audio M661
CDT EF-61's
JL XR-650CSi
Boston Acoustics SL60

I listen mainly to rock/industrial/metal. Think, Tool, Audioslave, Nine inch nails, etc.

Anyone have a preference, recommendation, or review or comparison between them? It'd be greatly appreciated.

Basically, which would you buy on that list, or what would you buy if it wasn't on that list....keeping in budget though.

300 is pushing it...I'd like to stay in the 200-230 dollar range.

Anyone?

-Dave

I think any of those would be a good choice. I too like that music

Edit:

Also include the Elemetal Designs 6500S. I heard many good things. They have a speaker/amp package deal, and then I can use the amp for my sub.

Any Focal separates in that price range? E-Bay maybe? Focal makes a very nice speaker. I also like the CDT speakers a lot. All of those are good though. Try to listen to them first, that's what matters. But it's hard because they never sound the same in a car as on the wall.

I have the JL XR components in several vehicles...great bang for the buck, IMO.

Well, my budget is decreasing...so maybe the 6000s from EDi.

Are they anywhere comparable to the 6500s or the others I have listed?

Out of that list the Diamond Audio S600S are they best high end SQ components and can be bought for $279 on ebay (new). As for best bang for the buck, I would say the Alpine typr R (spr-17ls) setup is your best choice if price is an issue.

If it helps I have a new set of Alpine typr R components for sale. I decided to go with a set of Focal 165K2 for $350.
-6.5" setup speaker/tweeter/x-over
-all paperwork and original box
-spr-17ls
-$100 shipped

PM me

I have ran both the Infinity reference and kappa components along with an older model alpine type r components from about 2 or 3 years ago, and the EDI 6000s blew them all our of the water IMO
