a warning for c5 owners and metra radio kit

the chevy metra radio kit gave me a a huge problem on my '02 z06 today. after assembling everything- i go to put it in and see that the bolts supplied to attach the brackets together stick out too much to push the radio in. stay away from the metra dash kit

I found out the same thing and used Gorilla glue to glue the "ears" on, which would have worked, but I decided to go for VRUMVRUM's fabulous aluminum adaptor. I'll send you a picture if you e-mail me.

Wish I would have seen this on Sunday...had the same problem. Of course, by the time I found this out it was around 8:00pm and needed to get my Z back together. I ended up leaving the screws in, putting some double sided servo tape (RC Car servos) on the ears and then putting it in place. Was still very tight to get in, but it worked and it holds, so I am happy. The Metra kit looks a lot better than the Scorsche kit. I have both...Metra's kit's appearance was a lot better!
