Default Stage 1 of upgrade

Just had an Alpine 9853 installed with Alpine speakers front and Rockfords in the rear. Man, I got scared coming home it sounded so bland. But I've pretty much dialed it in today and it's a nice jump from stock. Now I'm going to start my search for a sub and amp. All suggestions welcome.

whats your budget?

there is some good used gear on the forum right now. a couple jl amp and a jlw7 sub.

i'd personally suggest, if you're on a tighter budget to go with an imaged dynamics 12" sub, a sub thump box, and a phoenix gold titanium or jl audio amp. That'll really move the air and wont break the bank.
