Default How do I know if....

How do I know if I have a cd-changer wiring harness? I have a '03 coupe that did not come with a cd changer so chances are it doesn't have one correct?
If it does have one would it be pluged into the head unit and tucked under the dash or would the wires be ran back to the rear storage areas?
Thanks.
Larry

Larry,

Two places to check if your Vette was pre-wired from the factory for a CD-changer harness:

1. The rear trunk area; I believe if it's pre-wired, the cable will be located beneath the carpeting (not sure where though maybe someone else can chime in here ). I *believe* the changer is mounted in the middle of the trunk at the factory so this might be a place to look...the CD-changer harness is routed along the passenger side of the vehicle.

2. The CD-changer harness hooks into the factory head unit via two "port" plugs located in the passenger footwell area (lower right-hand corner, see this thread for pics). If the plugs are taped up and not connected to anything, your Vette is not pre-wired with a CD-changer harness

Thanks Larry.
Your info plus that thread gave me the info I needed. I'm adding a DVD and will be getting a GM10-AUX converter but needed to know if I also needed to get the COR-HAR wiring harness.

Larry,

You're welcome

Please be sure to post pics of your DVD installation; especially if it's one of those navigation setups
