I need a source for the speaker harness for the C6 with Nav. I have everything else ready to go (speaker upgrade, GM 24 aux harness on the way, amps and power conditioners). I only need the speaker harness so that I do not have to cut into the stock set up to install the line level adaptor (LC6). I can see the light thanks to the great folks here - just need a little more help!
You are looking for something to adapt from the current speaker connectors to your new set up?
The auxilary harness you mention in your post (the 24) what is that going from and/or to and where did you get it?
I am converting from the 1sa standard system to the Bose and the entire harness is different based on which car you have. You can't just buy the radio section of the harness, you have to buy the entire instrument panel harness, which is $800.
I simply bought the connector to fit the Bose amp and plan on taking the pins out of the current connector and placing them into the new one. If you have a source on adaptors for the C6, be sure to post who they are.
By the way, the speaker connectors that go to the subs in the doors are $70 a piece!
No - I have no source for C6 hook ups other than the info from the members here. If you could share the source and part number for the speaker connector I will provide lodging and beer, in Germany, should you make it over here! BTW - I have an unlimited autobahn not very far away! Thanks!
For the subs, it is part number 12126486 ($70 a each). For all of the other speakers it is 12101825 ($20 each). I suspect that these connectors may come with some kind of wiring attached because of the price. The 24 pin connector that comes from the amp is part number 12110088. It was only $5 but is bare which suits me fine since I am going to take pins from the existing 24 pin and put them into the new one.
There was a thread a while ago about how to adapt the PAC GM-24 for an IPOD as an aux input for the NAV Head Unit. I have that on order and plan to make the changes myself.
I'm using a LC6 unit from audiocontrol (ebay is a good source) and seperate amps for the main speakers and a seperate amp for two Blaupunk thin subwoofers (to replace the Bose self powered ones). I am bypassing the car wiring completly (very easy). The LS6 will sit under the dash. RCA's for each channel will go through the trans console to the amp deck in the front of the luggage space (just a raised MDF platform covered with subwoofer cloth). I'm using a Tsunami AV cable (7 channels in one cable) to go directly back to the amps. From the amps foward I've run two audio cables to each door (the plastic trim is easy to pop out and fishing the cables to the door is also easy with a snake or a long spring claw) one for the subwoofer and one for the 3 1/2in midrange. I will run very short cables to each of the 5 1/2s in the back.
Note the back speakers are not full range and they are both on the same mono channel! Very poor fidelity from those two. I would not use the feeds for anything other than filler noise.
Probably not the best way but you could run a source wire to each of the door subwoofer feeds (although I do not know which wires are the audio source on the Bose plug). What I do know is that the back speakers will not work
