First of all which one is the best? Seems like a lot of people are going with secondskin. I remember seeing a website with a liquid deadening material that actually gave a sound test on the website as well. Anyone remember which one that is? Anyone try it? Thanks!
I remember Rockford Fosgate having some spray on deadener years ago. It was called Noise Killer Blue and I think they had a red type as well.
Don't know if they still make it.
I saw this just a few weeks ago on the forum. You could buy it in a 5 gal. bucket. Can't remember the exact price but I think it was between $300-$500. I could swear it had "quiet" in its name. It is not quiet kote, I already looked on their website.
Many companies have a "wet" sound deadner. I have used alot of them and have not found any real difference. I have not found any real difference in comparable lines of "hard" deadners either. I do recommend trying to stay away from any aerosal cans though. Most have a bad habit of clogging quickly.
Note that the Second Skin liquid is for spraying on METAL. So it would be useless in most of the areas that need deadening in a C5.
I did my cargo area with Fatmat. Took approx. 2 days for me to do my typical anal-rententive perfectionist work. Most people could probably do a good job in a day or less.
I bought a 100 sq foot roll directly from Fatmat for about $120 shipped I think. Used less than half for the cargo area and plan to use the rest for the doors and passenger area.
