Need Help Selecting HU Wiring Adapter for C5

I replaced my factory HU with a Pioneer AVIC-N1, using the Soundgate GMCRV1 adapter. After several months, the Soundgate adapter has failed (and this is the second GMCRV1 that I've used). Besides, the GMCRV1 does not support the RAP feature.

So, I replace the GMCRV1 with a PAC ROEM-VET1. I thought this adapter supported the RAP feature, wrong, does not. It was advertised as being compatible with the C5, wrong, there's no electrical circuitry to power the sub woofer amps.

Now I'm looking at the Peripheral GMAH24B. It claims to be compatible with the C5, including support of the RAP feature. Anybody have any experiance with this adapter.

I really do not want to replace the factory speakers. They sound fine by me, as long as they are hooked up properly. If anybody has found the perfect wiring adapter, let me know.

There is no 12 volt ignition turn on in the C5 harness in the dash. so it is pretty safe to say that none of the adapters will hold the RAP feature. i could be wrong but i have not heard of any. To get your rap feature back you need to splice in the fuse panel under the passenger seat. fuse # 22 is perfect for the rap application. It will take you about 15 mins or so to splice into the harness and extend the wire up thru the dash. There are pros and cons about each adapter. Soundgate allows you to vary the subwoofer volume to mix with you front speakers. the pac adapter does not allow for this but is a better labled kit. the kit you are talking about i have not played with yet but will be in about week. Anyway i hope this helps

The advertising for the Peripheral GMAH24B looks good, but so did the advertising for the PAC ROEM-VET1. If you find out anything about the GMAH24B, let me know (either post here on the forum or private message). I would greatly appreciate it. I have sent an e-mail to the Peripheral technical support group. My experiance is that it takes a week or two for them to answer e-mail messages. Thanks for the feedback!

do you still have the pac adapter? if so i can talk you through getting your subs to work for you with this adapter

Yes, I still have the PAC adapter. Their tech support told me to connect the blue/white striped wire to the red accessory power wire. I started to do that when I noticed that the blue/white striped wire didn't plug into anything. Its opposite pin slot was empty. I saw your other post where you mentioned connecting the solid blue wire to the red accessory power wire. I'll give that a try.

The GMAH24B definitely retains the RAP feature, unfortunately, it is NOT compatible with the corvette factory wiring harness. The GMAH24B has a 24 pin connector, the corvette uses a 21 pin connector(as told by me from the Peripheral tech support).

sounds like you went thru the hell i went thru with adapters. there are 3 adapter companies that work but none of them are truely plug and play. some times i wonder if it would have been better off just ripping the bose out and putting something cheap in while i design the ribbon speakers for my front stage.!

What wire are you hooking to Fuse 22 ??

your ingition turn on wire. this turns your head unit on when the ignition is turned on. that wire should be a thicker pink wire. let me know if you have any problems
