You first need to know that the bass signal is not present at the twiddlers in a C5, so you can't just tap into the rear speakers. I found this out the hard way.

You could tap into the stock bass speakers in the doors and run wires back to an amp that accepts speaker-level inputs. or...

You can find the wires on the back of the head unit in this tech tip and use something like this to get at the pre-amp signal. or...

You can use a PD-2. or...

You can use an AOEM-Vet1 like the one that I got here.

I just installed the Audiolink PD2 in my '98 coupe and a Kenwood KSC-SW1 powered sub, a review of which is available here Got mine on eBay for about $100 less than Crutchfield's selling them for.

I've been trying alternate locations and found that the Kenwood unit fits snugly in the bottom of the center bin of my coupe without brackets. You're not going to wake up the neighbors three blocks over with this one but it fills out the sound of the stock Bose system nicely, even with the top on the bin.
