Default Someone please recommend an ipod adaptor and interface!

Hello everyone,
I am trying to put together a sound system for my C5 corvette. I want to be able to use an ipod in the car so I was wondering if someone can recommend an adaptor from a reputable vendor.
Lastly, I am adding a sub and amp to my stock head unit. What kind of interface do I need, and who should I buy it from?
Thanks in advance. All of you guys are great...

There are several threads on the subject of iPod installation floating around

I'm using this iPod adapter in my 04 Z: mp3yourcar.com

It's somewhat expensive (cost me $189.95 for the adapter and another $40.00 for the CD-changer harness) plus the iPod. But with this setup, your iPod will connect directly into your factory head unit (you simply select Aux on your head unit to listen to the iPod); your iPod will receive power from your car system allowing your iPod's battery to remain fully charged, you will be able to control volume and FF/RWD to/from the next track from your factory head unit. When you power off your factory head unit, the iPod will also power off...

The installation is very simple (on a scale of 1-10, I rate it a 5, all plug-n-play if you use the CD-changer harness ).

Thank you LarryW. Does the Stock C5 head unit allow you to operate the iPod with the head unit controls? Can you see the names of the songs, etc?

Drop Top,

Using this setup, you will have limited control of the iPod through the factory head unit: volume, track FF or RWD, and iPod power off/on. The FF/RWD buttons will become useless if you have multiple playlists and tracks on your iPod; better to use the iPod's click wheel for this!!

Unfortunately, the individual tracks are not displayed on the factory head unit.

I believe there are several aftermarket vendors that provide this solution/integration: Alpine, Pioneer, Sony, etc. but this would require replacing the factory head unit...
