Default Bose Gold series CD player question

I was not sure if this belonged here or in the tech section, if it was the tech section sorry..

The cd player will not accept a cd. It simply clicks at me. I would really hate to remove it and replace it with a un original unit. (I think these sound pretty damn good for a factory unit)

Does anybody know how to fix this problem? Or should i check into something like this?

Ive seen this service for as little as 100bux, but if anybody has fixed this problem themselves i would rather do it myself. Even if it involves my soldering iron

there is an audio section...

it's under General Corvette Forums ===> Audio/Electronics.

I have a C4 Audio FAQ there, check it out.

Options include repair or replace.

There is a place in New York that repairs the CD player, which is a POS, and recommended to me to send it in once a year under warranty as the heat in the dash area by the CD player causes the CD player protion to die prematurely.

Check Ebay for a guy by the user name RCH72 (put "Bose Gold" in the Ebay search) he did mine and I couldn't have been happier for the $100 I spent.. I even got the laser upgrade to play CDRs for that price
