Default Need advice...1 ohm or 2 ohm

I am looking at purchasing 1 - 12" dual voice coil Phoenix Gold sub with a 2 channel Phoenix Gold amp. The amp is stable to 1 ohm. Wattage rating on the amp is 75x2 @ 4 ohms, 250x1 @ 4 ohms. Speaker max is 750 watts. RMS is 350 watts. I am going to add the Soundgate adaptor to get clean input to the amp. The rest of the system is the factory BOSE with Infinity Reference 3 1/2's in the front (with factory 8") and Infinity Reference 5 1/4 components. Do you think dropping down to 1 ohm will be too much with the factory system? I want sound quality over SPL. I no longer compete in stereo competitions, so I don't have to hit 130 decibals. Eventually, the BOSE system will come out, but that is at least 1 year away. I want to add a little more punch to the low end. Any input would be great!!

I doubt it. If its too loud, you can turn the gains down easily enough.

Just got word back from Phoenix Gold's tech support. They don't recommend 1 ohm on the amp either..guess the 4 ohm dual is in my future.
Thanks!!
