Default 93 H/U replacement???????

My 93 has the stock headunit which is a tape deck...not CD. Since i need to replace it, i wanted to see what other owners were using. I'm thinking about a double din to fit the entire space. please post pics or let me know the model / brand your using

first, read the C4 Audio FAQ.

Second, don't do a double din head unit. They are a) expensive and b) limited. For the most part, they are larger, but no better then the the same single DIN that sells for $249.99.

I suggest Alpine or Eclipse.

I have an Alpine 7998 (discontinued) in my 1992 coupe.

Also, the bose CD player should work in your car, even if you don't have bose. It's an option.

The rest of my system:

JL Audio 500/5 - 5 channel amp
JL Audio 10W3v2 - 10" Sub, dual voice coil
Canton Pullman RS3 - 3-way separates, 6" midbass, 4" mid and 1" tweet, custom mounted in the doors.

That's it!

i did look at the audio FAQ and it will come in handy when i do make the switch. I'm afraid a regular size H/U with mounting kit won't look good...that's why i want to see pics of what others are doing. Anyone??????

VrumVrum (if you can find him!) makes a nice dash kit. I got mine from Specialty Autosound (number in the FAQ), it is metal and black. Looks pretty good.

The new Metra kit will allow for 2 DIN faces, I think. So a nice CD head with DVD player would fit in the dash together.

bogus...

thanks for the info...i like the way yours looks, at least the colors match...so many head units are silver w/ blue lights, which i do like, but not for my 93. I want something black w/ gold & orange to match. I'm also contemplating a unit w/ an LCD screen that plays dvd's, why not right??
