Default I like the specs on Polk MM6500 6-1/2" 2 way comp for the doors

I've pretty much decided on Polk. I love the clarity that polk speakers tend to have, but I've never heard the ones I'm looking at buying. If a chain store carried them, I'd go listen, but since I'll buy them off the net, kinda rude to waste a high end stores time.

I already have the 5-1/4" coax momos in the rear.

And I'll be purchasing a 5 or 6 channel amp too so I can add a sub.

Any experience/comments?

I'm ready to hit the purchase button. I've found them for under $230 shipped, MSRP is $350.

Thanks

I've never heard them. Don't be afraid to go to a store and listen to them, only you will know if you like them or not. You could also check out some car audio forums for feedback. Perhaps somebody here would chime in.

Thanks for the reply.

I've searched in several of the audio forums and I've seen positive comments about Polk Audio in general, but didn't find anything specific about their component speakers.

Guess I can be the 1st to try them here.

I use Polk Audio exclusively in my home theater. I absolutely love Polk! If their car speakers are the same caliber, then it is a no brainer!

i just intalled polk momo mm6 components in my doors on a 98 c5...you have to push them with an amp, but when you do, every little detail in any song comes to life. You will not be disapointed...just save your self some time and headaches and order a set of door mounting bracket from
Michael Stanzel, they are worth evey penny...

Thanks for letting me know how good they sound! I'll be putting 150 watts rms to them via an Audiobahn digital amp.

I'm going to be mounting mine in a fiberglass panel that'll be blended into the lower door panel. I'll make my own MDF speaker rings and will encorporate everything into the fiberglass etc.

Vrum's stuff looks really nice, but I have so much stuff to build and glass up, I'll need to build my own rings since I may have to build some of them more than once.
