Default Finally Done.......

I have finally finished my monitor install. It only took about 8 months to finish this project. I would like to thank EatRice for the guidance and help to get to this point....

The install did not take 8 months. I spent most of that time out of the country working with a client. The over time to install the whole system was about 2 1/2 weeks total.

The system break down is:

Custom PC (Nav, DVD, MP3, internet, email, FM, TV tuner)
Custom 7" touch screen monitor
MB Quart QSD216
JL 10w6v2
PPI DCX800.5 (bridged mono for 200wx2 and 400wx1)
Delorme USB GPS Nav
USB remote control (for audio control)

Here is a picture of the monitor mounted in the panel .

To get to this point it took about 40 hours a whole lot of sanding and some filling and some more sanding.

Here are two more pictures one with flash and one without.

I will say that anyone with the patience and the tools can do this project. The best part about the whole system is that it is done (it sounds pretty good to boot) !

Now on to the next project. Hmmm Long tube headers and/or cam........

Thanks for the compliments.

The monitor is a Xenarc 7" widescreen (model 700TS).

I removed it from its housing and then worked it into the dash panel. I used a couple of different steps to make the dash panel the bezel. This is the end result.

I am still looking for different finishes for the whole panel since what I am using now is not hard enough. It shows every little mark.

Ball park for parts and materials is somewhere around $4500. That includes all of the misc. parts like body filler, wireties, LEDs, wire, screws, etc.
