Default Budget of 1,300 to upgrade

Ok guys,
I`ve got 1,300 to spend on replacing the bose system in my 94.
I`m probally gonna have to have the install done by a shop due to not having much free time so that will take up some of the money.
I really want something loud clean and crisp what do you think i should get as far as HU, speakers, maybe amp if the money is there, also what can i expect to pay as far as install and rewire?
TIA

Howdy
The shop, of coarse, would like you to put their equipment from them. This is good and bad. You will be limited to your choices but on the positive side, they will be more familer with the equipment installed and how to set-up that equipment.

IMO, a rough ballpark figures (based on $1300) would be this. $300 for the headunit, $300 for a 4-channel amp, $250 for front speakers, $150 for sub, and $300 for cables, accessories and labor. The amp would power both the front speakers and sub. If you like rear speakers (I don't), use the head unit to power those.

I agree with knewblew... that should be a good starting point.

Check Alpine for heads, ArcAudio or JL Audio for amps, CDT for speakers and JL Audio or IQ for subs.

Another options is a pair of JL 8W3s mounted in the rear speaker enclosure.

Check the C4 Audio FAQ above for more information.

NOOOO dont use the FAQ from Bogus!! it makes way too sense and no one actually reads it anyways!

ok ok, seriously though, before you buy ANY subwoofer, check out www.realmofexcursion.com or www.woofervids.com and actually see what some of the subwoofers you are considering look like while actually in action. Theses sites are realitivly new to the audio community for reference, but ive found them invaluable many times since their introduction. I even have a couple of videos on there...(shamelss plug for attention)
