LS1 edit?

Re: LS1 edit? (Bigblockquad)
The PCM/ECU in our cars provides OBDII/diagnostics and engine/powertrain management.
Ls1Edit allows us to "Edit" the various lookup tables in the PCM as well as modify/turn off-on many diagnostic tests ( as well as their associated codes).
Some of the functions we can Edit are Timing and Fueling as well as the transmission shift points etc.
In order to evaluate the need for and result of Editing you will need a scanner to log various parameters ( RPM, MAP, MAF, LTFTs,O2 V etc.) and evaluate performance. EFILive and Autotap are the most popular. EFILive 6 is the best product IMHO.
Hope this helps some.
From Carputings Site -Here is a short list of some features of LS1-edit:
Engine Control:
Limiters:
four Idle Speed Tables
Five RPM Limits
RPM limit By Gear Table
RPM Limit by Temperature
RPM Limit Delay

Re: LS1 edit? (Bink)
I read that efilive only works while the computer is pluged into your car, once the cable is disconnected the pcm returns to stock. If this is true, is it the same with ls1 edit. Thanks :seeya

LS1Edit flashes the PCM so the changes stay in the PCM, even if you disconnect battery power to the car after the changes have been successfully flashed.

Thanks, that is good to know, I guess you can do some real damage with ls1 edit if you get in over your head. EFilive seems as its more for beginners.
