Look up Jbsblown, on this forum he has them on his car and I'm thinking about getting 295/40/17 on front and 315/30/18 on the rear.

Yes, JB has ben running them successfully for a few months now. They are stickier than the R2's but don't expect too many miles from them. Also, don't plan on using them for any road conditions other than dry weather!

I just received a complete set, 275/40x17 amd 315/30x18, but I haven't mounted them yet. They are supposed to be awesome on the track.

BUT they are NOT a good all around tire. They are competition tires. You can drive them on the street, but they will not perform as good as a street tire. In rain they are even dangerous!

If you really want competition tires and use them on th street, I would suggest Nitto 555RII. Almost as good on the track as NT01, but much better on the street. But still not a good all around tire...

With all that said, does it make sense to NOT use a matched set? For example, I have around 500 rwhp. I want to run either an RI, RII, or NT-01 on the rears, but does it make sense to go with a regular 555 up front? What would an RII by me up front that I would not get out of 555?

The car is a weekend driver/street race/fun car. What combo of Nitto's would you go with? I am leaning towards RI's or RII's in the rear with 555 regulars up front. I like the NT-01's, but they don't make the size I want.

I run 335 555Rs on the back and PS/2s on the front on my street car.

Here is what I did with my 700+ rwhp coupe with the Nittos. I mixed and matched them. I went with 275/35/18's extremes on the front and on the rear I went with 315/30/18 NT-01's and love the combo. I may be crazy as the guys around San Antonio think of me, because this past weekend I drove approximately 200 miles in the rain. 150 of them on the freeway with the average speed of 80 mph. Now these tires only have 1k on them and I had no issues then and when we left the highway for some fun driving in the country.

On dry pavement these tires really grip and the rears will not last and that is ok the extra traction is what I wanted

I have the NT-01's for Auto-X and just used them today for the first time. Let me say they were AWESOME. However, that is all they are good for. They will not give you any street traction if you hit any (and I mean ANY) moisture. That includes sprinklers, run-off, anything. They will also burn up in a few weeks of regular street driving. They are super soft and ROCK on a dry track

I cannot seem to find the cost anywhere. what is MSRP and dealers are few and far between. Any chance that Tire Rack will carry them soon?

The only major retailer that is carrying them is Discount Tire (called America's Tire in California). Their website is www.discounttire.com. Tire Rack told me they don't know when (if) they will carry them.
