how the gear came out of the housing. The installation of the gears are the reverse of removal. Make sure you intall the black gear in the same direction that it was removed. If you do not, then the pin that is driven back into place will not line up with the slot on the side of the ight.

Side view of black gear. The upper portion of this axle is the portion that goes through the motor housing and bolts onto the light.

Broken teeth off of black gear. This was causing the motor to run even after the light had been retracted.

The screws holding the motor together have been removed, and the casing has been gently pried open.

Pin has been removed. I used a nail set to help drive the pin out. The pin can go in either direction.

If the black gear has to be removed, then you will need to remove this pin. You do not have to remove this pin if the black gear is intact.

Removal of the light and cover are straight forward. Just look at it, and youcan remove it. Unclip the wiring harness from the light, then insert a socket and eztension to remove bolt as shown.
